La Chataigneraie offers 3 well equipped gites along with en-suite B&B rooms, in the heart of the Pyrenees. We have 2 acres of gardens to explore, with a swimming pool, gym, boules court, bicycles and breath-taking mountain views. Sahorre has a bistro and a handful of small shops whilst the famous spa town of Vernet les Bains is less than 2 miles away, with a wider selection of shops, activities and restaurants. This stunning area is steeped in culture and history with several of France’s most beautiful villages within a short drive. A paradise for sports enthusiasts with a huge range of sports and activities available nearby – from mountain biking to white water rafting – even the most active group could find a different activity for every day! If you prefer to simply relax by the pool, the area is renowned as the sunniest in France with a glorious 320 days of sunshine every year. Beautiful at any time of year, 45 minutes from either beaches or ski resorts we really offer the best of both worlds.
Petit Gite is a character stone gîte that was originally a working mine building, long before La Chataigneraie was built. It has now undergone a complete refurbishment to make a great little holiday home, full of character!
A perfect cosy base for a couple, it has a double bedroom with en-suite shower room upstairs and open-plan kitchen/living room downstairs. The bedroom offers truly spectacular views across the valley. The kitchen area is small, but well equipped with a dishwasher, 2-ring hob, fridge-freezer and combi-microwave.
It has a colour television, DVD player and dedicated wifi router.
The living room opens directly on to its own private terrace with barbeque, table & chairs and superb views of the gardens, swimming pool and mountains.
The terrace is a sizzling sun-trap whilst the thick stone walls and shutters ensure it remains pleasantly cool and airy indoors.
Guests are, of course, most welcome to make full use of all facilities.
