Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The location is very good. It is located about 10 minutes walk to the centre of Valance and there are plenty of restaurants in the centre and three very good take-a-way shops across the road. The garage is almost next door and about a 50 meter walk so not too far to drag the suitcases. The parking garage is fully secured and good wide spaces with lots of available spaces when we were there. The apartment has a smart TV (although I hate LG smart TVs due to the annoying mouse effect). The WiFi was fast and reliable although the ID and password are different from what was advised on pre check in. There are USB chargers by the bed. The bed is a Queen size but comfortable. Good shutters on the windows make for a dark room for sleeping but the curtains are useless by themselves. The heating is adequate but difficult to control. The bathroom water pressure is very good. The apartment is generally clean but needs dusting in certain areas such as the rangehood and clothing shelves and rack. The washing machine is small but functional.

Negative: It is a bit of an effort to get the keys and parking access as there is nowhere to stop, unload or wait to go and get the keys. A single person with a car would have no hope. The decor is cheap and a bit flimsy so it detracts from the quality making the place seem cheap. The staircase up to the apartment is steep and makes dragging suitcases up a bit of an effort. The bathroom is very small and by the time it has a washing machine in it you have to sit sideways on the toilet. There were only two washing tablets for the washing machine so any more than two loads is an issue for longer stays. The ironing board is too lightweight for the iron. There is insufficient room for any serious groceries in the shelves. There is no desk for a laptop and no power points in a suitable location so we had to rearrange the furniture to do any work. The sofa is uncomfortable as a sofa and the apartment doesn't have any rubbish or recycling area to store things so each day meant taking out the trash.

Summary: More like student accommodation.
